Contact House Charges
There are 4 contact houses at St Athan, 2 on East Camp and 2 on West Camp. One of the houses on East Camp is run by the RAF and more details for this can be obtained by ringing 01446 797332.  The other 3 are managed by the Army Welfare Office and all have 3 bedrooms (Double, Twin, Single and a cot) They are fully furnished and all bedding is laundered at a local laundry but we do not supply towels. Bookings can be made by contacting the Welfare office on 01446 790122.
The contact Houses are very popular especially at the weekends. They are primarily used for Welfare Cases  but can be used for family visits when vacant. This year has seen a large increase in the number of soldiers from other units using them for child access which comes under the welfare umbrella.
We have been reviewing the current charges and found that due to a discounted price for welfare cases we are sometimes running at a loss.
We currently have to pay daily rent to Carillion Amey, TV License, Laundry, Cleaning and replacement of damaged/ broken items.  To keep the costs down, much of the cleaning is done by the team but inevitably some has to be paid for ie cooker deep clean. Sadly we have had to increase the rental costs from 1st May 2018 for new bookings but will keep the price at £30 for all bookings currently in the diary for May 2018.

The new charges will be as follows
Current bookings in diary for May -
West Camp Community Centre and Bouncy Castle - £30
Contact Houses run by Army Welfare Team -£30

New bookings in May and all bookings from 1st June -
West Camp Community Centre and Bouncy Castle - £35 each
Contact Houses on West Camp  - £35 per night
Contact house on East Camp run by Army Welfare Team - £40 per night
